What is the Construction White Card?
To work in the construction industry in Australia you must complete Construction Induction Course this is more commonly known as White Card, Green Card or Blue Card Course.
Due to the harmonisation process for Work Health and Safety (WHS) Laws (previously referred to as OHS), the Construction Induction Course is now accepted across ALL states. The course is based on the National Code Induction for Construction Work and the national unit of competency CPCCOHS1001A: Work safely in the construction industry.

Course Information
General Induction for Construction Training (White Card) covers the knowledge and skills described in the national unit of competency CPCCWHS1001 – Prepare to work safely in the construction industry. It is a legal obligation to complete this course prior to commencing work on a construction site.
The elements covered in this unit of competency include:
- Identify OHS legislative requirements.
- Identify construction hazards and control measures.
- Identify OHS communication and reporting processes.
- Identify OHS incident response procedures.
